Authorized User Training for Feline I-131

This course is targeted toward veterinarians without previous radioactive materials didactic coursework and is designed to partially fulfill Nuclear Regulatory Commission training requirements. The course covers the basics of radiation physics and radiation safety and their relevance to I-131 uses. This course explains principles and practices of radiation protection, basic radiation physics, instrumentation, radiobiology. Finally, we cover I-131 specific topics such as bioassay, air emissions, procedures, and precautions for animals, handling contaminated materials, and release limits for treated animals.

Course Format:  This course consists of a series of Lectures and Quizzes. Each of our 9 modules is accompanied by additional course materials that require your review. Once you have completed all Modules, you will be able to print your Certificate of Completion.
